EMOTIONAL PROTECTION

At Yellow Dog we try to go further than simply ensuring that children are physically safe.

We are very aware that many children feel emotionally vulnerable when performing. To combat this we take certain measures -

* We tackle any incidents of negative comments being made by other group members.

* We celebrate effective team work.

* We reward positive behaviours.

* We cast our productions in a way which is gives all students a chance at prominent roles over time. This 'fairness' is essential in creating the right environment for positive learning for all of our students.

* We accentuate the postive, and eliminate the negative, whenever, and wherever possible.
